The March meeting of the NEC was an outstanding opportunity for us to catch up, share ideas and industry updates, and reaffirm the spirit of MIWA.
Although most of the NEC’s four annual meetings take place virtually, our bi-annual face-to-face gatherings are always exciting events. One of the most important functions of these meetings is to provide a platform for reviewing initiatives that may improve our members’ workshops and smooth their processes. This is how many of our vital initiatives and relationships have come about. We also discuss challenges currently facing our workshops, with an eye to helping to craft solutions.
This is why we value the input of all NEC members. The NEC is made up of the chairperson in each of our five MIWA regional executive committees, along with co-opted members, all of whom share their knowledge and expertise on a voluntary basis because they are passionate about making this industry the best it can be.
This is an election year for our NEC, which means we are welcoming new members. If you share our love of this industry and would like to give back to the community, we invite you to stand for election in your region. Think of it this way: just as you can stand on the sidelines of a rugby match, yelling to the players and coach, or get on the field and play your heart out, this is your chance to have a voice in the industry.
