2019

From the Director’s Desk, March 2023

This month’s newsletter is dedicated to those who feel moved to make a difference, right where they are, with all that they have.

This month, I’m especially inspired by the achievements of Kirsten Landman at the Dakar Original by Motul. Congratulations to a woman who is changing the way we think about female athletes. I am also deeply saddened by the passing of my dear friend Randall.

It does make me think however that we should live our lives to the full and embrace and cherish every moment. Of course, you don’t have to grace the world stage to make a difference. This month’s newsletter is dedicated to the many MIWA members who are doing that in their own way, from the dynamic duo who are once again arranging Motor Mech to the sponsors of Fishing For Cancer; from our training teams to the staff who do everything they can to help our members provide better service and improve the industry.

To each of you – well done. Keep up the good work and remember to always have fun and be kind to each other.  One of the last quotes Randall shared with his SAMBRA family was a Madiba quote for Human Rights Day and I thought it apt to share with you: To deny people their human rights, is to challenge their very humanity. So, what I’m telling you to do now, is to act. Because no one is too small to make a difference.”

MIWA National Director
