Get ready for Motor Mech

MIWA is gearing up for its dynamic industry showcase, targeting the youth market.

In our ongoing efforts to promote careers in the automotive aftermarket industry, we are pleased to announce that plans for Motor Mech 2023 are already afoot.

As with last year’s highly successful event, the show will be organised by Teresa Spenser Higgs, MIWA Vice regional Chairperson for the Eastern Cape,  MIWA Training Representative, Cliffie Jacobs, and Peter Van Mosseveld, RMI Regional Manager & MIWA Representative for Eastern Cape. It will once again be hosted at the Port Rex Technical High School in East London on South Africa’s Youth Day, 16 June – an auspicious date, given the aim of attracting young people to the industry.

Motor Mech aims to showcase the many facets of the industry, which is why the participation of sister organisations TEPA, NADA, and ARA is crucial, along with exhibitors like parts suppliers, manufacturers, tool and garage suppliers, and aftermarket warranty specialists. Industry stakeholders like MerSeta, MISA, and Moto Health Care are also expected to take part. The annual Junior Motor Mech Competition is another highlight, and the event organisers are hoping to encourage even more participants this year.

In showing the many opportunities offered by the industry, MIWA looks forward to attracting new talent while also addressing South Africa’s considerable youth unemployment challenge.
