We’re excited to announce the appointment of Marcia Modiba as Association Operations Coordinator.
Marcia is no stranger to MIWA, having first joined the association as a receptionist in 2011. Her career progressed quickly: in 2014, she was appointed Credit Controller at RMI’s head office in Randburg and, one year later, she took up a bookkeeping position. In 2018, she was named Associational Representative for the Northern Region (now referred to as Central Region); a role which entailed working directly with members to ensure their needs were met: arranging regional executive and member meetings, growing the association, and helping to retain existing members. Her duties also included delivering presentations to further education about MIWA’s aims and investigating complaints received about the association.
Now, in her new position, Marcia will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the Associational Representatives on a national level. She will, furthermore, assist in the operational achievement of strategic goals, implement strategies to grow and retain members, attend to complaints from members and consumers, and oversee industry events and member liaison.
Marcia is looking forward to working closely with all members of MIWA to improve the organisation at every level.
Marcia’s appointment is part of our continual drive to improve professionalism in the industry so that we keep raising our standards. As part of this, we are also looking forward to appointing a social media agency, which will be tasked with raising our profile across all social media platforms and leveraging our excellent PR coverage. This will plan will be set in motion from 1 July.
