MIWA Magic moments

Celebrating this month’s milestones and achievements.

We love celebrating with our MIWA members! From milestones to achievements, these are the events we’re applauding this month.

Five-star grading

Hearty congratulations to Aspire Motorsport, an all-women team in Laser Park in Roodepoort which received its five-star grading this month as well as The 357 team in Silverstone Crescent in Kyalami Park who are also sporting 5 stars.

The RMA COID Roadshow

The RMA COID Roadshow took place on 28 February at the Emperor’s Palace Convention Centre. Apart from presenting excellent networking opportunities, the event provided a platform to discuss the status of the COID platform, declare earnings, showcase products, and shed light on COID regulatory matters. Marcia and Ray, who attended the roadshow, took advantage by asking some key questions around members’ concerns.

Reemo Swartz a cycling superstar at Cape Town’s Cycle Tour

Reemo Swartz, Regional manager and MIWA Associational Rep: Free State and Nothern Cape, proved himself a cycling superstar at this year’s Cape Town Cycle Tour. This was the 45th edition of the event, which is the biggest timed cycle race in the world. Reemo finished the 105km race in three hours, 51 minutes, and eight seconds; although he’s hoping to bring this all the way down to three hours and 30 minutes next year – not because he wants to finish first, but because he believes in the importance of goals to keep you moving forward. Reemo says there is no better way to escape the stress and keep fit than getting into the saddle, and the beauty of the Cape Town Cycle Tour makes it an extra special race.

Fishing for Cancer

Thank you to Finn Auto Repairs and Diagnostics, which took part as prize sponsors in Fishing for Cancer; a fishing competition that aims to raise funds for cancer patients.  Peter van Mosseveld tells us the competition was organised by Ruan Olivier and the Vrouweesfees and took place at the Eerste Rivier in the Eastern Cape between 17-19 March. The event was well supported, with 18 anglers casting their rods, and the organisers are already starting to plan a follow-up competition. Thank you Peter for participating and for organising prizes from MIWA for this very worthwhile cause.

Show us your branding!

The challenge is on!

Show us your branding! Why? Because RMI is rolling out a competition with big prizes up for grabs for workshops that are using the new association’s branding. Find out more in next month’s newsletter – this is one you definitely do not want to miss.
