Celebrating the Motus Franchise of the Year Awards
An event to celebrate this month was the Motus Franchise of the Year Awards.
The event took place at InterContinental Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Airport on 29 September. Motus franchise includes the brands ADCO, CBS, Ferobrake, Motolek, and Auto Care & Diagnostics.
Franchises are judged on brand image, service, health and safety compliance, marketing, brand loyalty, training, going green and social responsibility to name just a few criteria.
In the Auto Care & Diagnostics brand, MIWA’s D&T Servicing scooped first prize followed by runners-up All Car Service and Automotive Service.
Then in the Motolek brand, MIWA’s Motolek Vredenburg scooped the first prize, followed by Motolek Ballito and Hein’s Auto Electrical.

Congratulations to Swedo-Tech Service on their 23rd anniversary
Finally, happy 23rd anniversary, Swedo-Tech Service! The workshop opened its doors in 1999, with just five staff members servicing five cars a day. Back then, a timing belt service cost just R1 000, giving owner Bruno Burri just enough money to buy “a clapped out VW bakkie”, which served as his transport as well as his workshop vehicle. Bruno recalls working 13-hour days — and that’s before call-outs in the evenings and on weekends. But his hard work paid off, and Swedo-Tech Service is now an entrenched part of the Bloemfontein community. Bruno and team, we salute you and wish you many more years of success and growth!
