MIWA recently joined forces with Daniel Pienaar High School, the oldest technical school in South Africa, to host the Tiger Tech Festival.
Taking place on 28 October, the festival provided a comprehensive showcase for industry players, including parts suppliers, new vehicle manufacturers, and workshops (including a workshop specifically for women). Tiger Tech Festival also encompassed The Motor Mech Show, the ever-popular event highlighting the industry to prospective employees and providing a chance for them to pit their skills against each other in the Junior Motor Mech Competition.
The partnership between Daniel Pienaar High School and MIWA is a natural one: not only does the school offer a solid education in ‘Motor’ (a stream within the Mechanical Technology Department, which covers a range of practical and theoretical components), but it is also supported by experts from the nearby Volkswagen. The Eastern Cape, as a whole, makes an excellent location for events related to the motor industry, given that it plays host to several vehicle production plants and already has a sound track record for hosting Motor Mech at Port Rex High School.
The event was an enormous success, and we look forward to working closely with Daniel Pienaar High School in the future.
