We’re thrilled to introduce a fresh section to your regular newsletter: an insight into the latest happenings in the exciting world of motor sport.
This month’s news is especially exciting, as we get to congratulate TOYOTA GAZOO Racing’s Nasser El-Attivah and co-driver Mathieu Baumel on their win at the inaugural World Rally-Raid Championships, which took place in October in Andalusia, Spain. As if it’s not exciting to see this title won by a South African team, we also get to celebrate the fact that they won in a South African-made GR DKR Hilux T1+. This is the first time a locally manufactured car has won a world championship!
Meanwhile, over in Lesotho, Wade Young (of Sherco Factory Racing powered by Motul) has good reason to break out the champagne: his recent win of the 2002 Roof of Africa makes him a seven-time champion. Kudos also go to Mani Lettenbichler (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) and Travis Teasdale (ASP Rope Mclarens Racing), who took second and third place respectively.
