All about accreditation

Why is MIWA so strict about accreditation criteria? Pieter Niemand explored this issue on The Devi Show. Read about his appearance here.

Earlier this month, MIWA National Director Pieter Niemand appeared on The Devi Show to shed light on what happens when consumers overlook the importance of choosing a MIWA-accredited workshop.

The segment revealed the disastrous results that ensued when consumers left their vehicles with mechanics who work out of their homes or gardens.

It also served as an excellent platform for highlighting the stringent criteria MIWA applies before granting accreditation, and for educating consumers about what goes into the process. For instance, all MIWA workshops are run by highly skilled mechanics who provide excellent service, administrative support, and quality parts and machinery. Workshop owners are expected to provide training for their workers, and must have insurance in place for defective repairs. There are also standards to be adhered to in terms of diagnostic equipment.

These standards are crucial, as they ensure that MIWA workshops provide a consistent level of quality. Moreover, and most importantly, if a customer finds that this is not the case, they have recourse for their grievances.

MIWA currently has a membership base of 2 500 accredited and graded workshops countrywide.
