MIWA had a wonderful chance to educate members of the trade about the association while highlighting our achievements when we took part in Automechanika, the country’s leading international trade fair which took place at Nasrec from 7–10 June.
As part of the greater RMI stand, which provided a showcase for all eight RMI associations, we had an excellent opportunity to demonstrate how we are responding to the increasing digitalisation of the industry, in line with Automechanika’s theme. MIWA was also represented on the Right To Repair SA Steering Committee with Jan Bambas, Global head for Advocacy and Associations at Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket. Jan is responsible for the coordination of aftermarket advocacy topics at various industry associations globally.
Our NEC took advantage of the presence of MIWA executives to host our quarterly meeting, which was followed by a highly productive MIWA strategic session.
Congratulations to RMI CEO, Jakkie Olivier, who has been invited to represent South Africa as one of nine independent judges at the International Innovation Awards to be hosted at Automechanika Frankfurt in September this year. The awards are always a highlight of the show, and our own award ceremony – hosted on 7 June – was no different.
